Pascale Doxy is a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Her passion for drawing started when she was a toddler. She was introduced to water color at the age of twelve. At seventeen, dissatisfied with the light tones of water color, Doxy changed her preferred medium to acrylic.
When Doxy turned nineteen, her parents signed her up for her first art class. The location: the famous Centre D’art in Port-au-Prince. For a year she learned the basics of drawing. During the first six months the very well-known Frank Louissaint was her mentor. Later on, Doxy went off on her own. In Port-au-Prince, at the age of twenty, she did her first solo exhibition.
When the catastrophic earthquake struck in Haiti on January 12, 2010, Pascale Doxy was preparing her second exhibition. She survived miraculously, along with her work.
On January 8, 2011, she revealed in Florida, on a solo exhibition, 9 paintings displaying the tragedy of 2010. Before that disaster, painting was for Pascale Doxy a pleasure. Now it has become a therapy, a way to heal herself and to introduce the world to her very complex and passionate culture.
