On July 27, 2013, members of the Women Writers of Haitian Descent were at the South Florida Book Festival, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., to read from the Haiti anthology SO SPOKE THE EARTH.
The event took place at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC), located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
SO SPOKE THE EARTH: A multi-lingual anthology about Haiti that explores its past, present and future as experienced by a diversity of inhabitants. “So Spoke the Earth: Haitian Women Writers at Work,” with Marie Ketsia Theodore-Pharel, Mahalia Solages, and Joanne Hyppolite. Theodore-Pharel writes children’s books and short stories; Solages authors picture books and women’s fiction; and Hyppolite is a museum curator in Miami and author of children’s novels and short stories.
